NABO to hold a Grand Debate on the 2019 Budget Proposal
National Assembly Budget office, along with the Economy and Finance Research Forum of the National Assembly, will be holding the Grand Debate on the 2019 Budget Proposal on November 1st at the Member’s Office Conference Hall.
This year’s Grand Debate was organized in order to discuss the proper principles and direction of the budget evaluation process ahead of official examination of the 2019 governmental budget proposal by the National Assembly.
The opening ceremony will consist of words of encouragement by Moon Hee-sang, Speaker of the National Assembly, and congratulatory address by Ahn Sang-soo, Chairman of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, as well as by Chang Byoung-Wan, President of the Economy and Finance Research Forum.
Professor Shin Yul of Myungji University will host the debate, with keynote presentations by Gu Yoon-chul, Director General of the Budget Office at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Lee Seung-Jae, Assistant Chief for Budget Analysis at NABO. Cho Chung-sik, committee member from the Democratic Party, Chang Jae-won, committee member from the Liberal Korea Party, Lee Hye-hoon, committee member from the Bareunmirae Party, and Chung In-hwa, committee member from the Democratic Peace Party will participate as debaters to present the position of each party on the 2019 governmental budget proposal and to discuss the proper direction of the budget examination process.
