Examination Progress and Highlights of the 2022 Tax Act Revision

   A total of 19 national tax-related laws were reviewed and a total of 334 tax bills were subject to review at the 400th regular session and the 401st extraordinary session. On December 23 and 28, 2022, the National Assembly deliberated and resolved on 17 bills at the plenary session of the National Assembly that were agreed upon following in-depth discussions on the Tax Revision Bill subject to review.
   The purpose of this report is to help the public understand the tax act that will be implemented from 2023 by summarizing the main contents and review process of the revised tax act passed by the National Assembly in December 2022. This report includes the main contents of the revised tax law and the projected effects on the tax revenue. This is followed by the major issues discussed on the key subject matters during the review process. In addition, the revision made during the National Assembly’s deliberation process are summarized, highlighting the Assembly’s role in the Tax Act revision process.
