The National Assembly Budget Office (Chief Dongha Chi) held a meeting with a visiting delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday, May 15.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Sang-eun Lee, Director of NABO’s Industrial Budget Analysis Division, and Corinne Delechat, the IMF Mission Chief for Korea.
During the session, NABO and the IMF delegation engaged in-depth on several key areas. Discussions focused on the analysis and economic impacts of the 2026 supplementary budget, the long-term sustainability of fiscal stimulus measures, and the analysis and evaluation of the government’s innovation and R&D strategies.
Following the meeting, IMF Mission Chief Corinne Delechat noted, "This visit was aimed at reviewing Korea's current economic climate ahead of the Article IV consultation scheduled for the second half of the year." She added, "It was highly productive session that allowed for meaningful discussions on a wide range of pressing fiscal issues."
