On Friday, March 27, the National Assembly Budget Office (NABO) held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Building to mark the publication of its report, NABO Economic Outlook for 2026.

The press conference focused on a briefing by Cheong Chi-eun, Director General of the Economic Analysis Department. During the session, the Director General explained the reasoning behind upwardly adjusting the 2026 economic growth forecast to 2.0% (a 0.1%p increase) and introduced key outlooks for various economic sectors.

In the briefing, Director General Cheong stated, "While the Korean economy is expected to see a recovery in domestic demand and continued growth in exports in 2026, external conditions remain highly unstable due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.“
